Tesla rolling FSD Beta v12.3 with big improvements

Tesla is rolling out the 2023.44.30.25 software build and it brings FSD Beta v12.3. The software has been anticipated for weeks as it brings new fixes for some known issues.

Last month, Tesla seeded FSD Beta v12.2.1 for employees and it expanded to a number of selected subscribers. While posting this information on social media site X, user @TeslaAiGirl shared that FSD version 12.3 is now rolling out.

FSD V12:

FSD Beta v12 shifts the full self-driving system to an “end-to-end” neural network. This network is trained with millions of driving and traffic video clips. Importantly, the FSD 12 replaces 300,000 lines of manual C++ code and relies heavily on trained AI.

As a result, the system has become unsupervised and drives through the traffic based on the training instead of supervised manual instructions from the previous code.

FSD is currently available for Tesla employees but some of the users also selected to test the new builds. Based on the feedback, the FSD v12 drive is more natural and reacts quicker than the V11.

FSD V12.3

This brings us back to last month when a user shared some of the findings on the FSD v12 test. It was mentioned that the FSD has some confusion in navigation and at intersections.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla replied to the user by saying that the FSD “these issues are addressed in 12.3”.

FSD Beta v13:

The changelog of FSD Beta v12.3 remained unknown for the time being. However, the version may install fixes and improvements over features that have been added in the past versions.

Tesla’s chief also said today “This is a big release. Should arguably be called v13”. That sums up the importance of the software but we’ll have to wait until user reviews come out.
