Rivian R2 will launch on March 7 and its key specifications are now leaked online including the drive range, dimensions, wheel, and more.

This leak is shared by X user Chris Hilbert which starts with the base model price of $47,500, we’ve already discussed this separately and you can read it here. We will now look at its key leaked specifications.

Range:

Rivian R2 could bring 330 miles (531 kilometers) of EPA range. Standard Rivian R1S and R1S packs a 270 miles range and its Standard+ version has 315 miles range.

Acceleration:

It could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3 seconds which is 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds for AWD R1T and the same goes for the R1s. The difference in acceleration improves in the dual-motor AWD performance version at 3.5 seconds and goes to 3 seconds in the Quad-motor for both R1s and R1T models.

So, Rivian R2 could be faster at its starting point but there’s no information available about its Performance version’s acceleration.

Dimensions:

Here we could do a comparison in width of the R2 and the other two Rivian vehicles to spot some difference in size.

Rivian R1T:

  • Max height (with antenna) – 78.2 inches
  • Length – 217.1 inches
  • Wheelbase – 135.8 inches
  • Width (mirrors folded) – 81.8 inches
  • Approach Angle – 35 degrees
  • Departure Angle – 30 degrees
  • Max Ground Clearance – 14.9-inches

Rivian R1S:

  • Max height (with antenna) – 77.3 inches
  • Length – 200.8 inches
  • Wheelbase – 121.1 inches
  • Width (mirrors folded) 81.8 inches
  • Approach Angle – 35.6 degrees
  • Departure Angle – 34.3 degrees
  • Max Ground Clearance – 14.9-inches

Rivian R2:

  • Height – 66.9 inches
  • Length – 185.6 inches
  • Wheelbase – 115.6 inches
  • Width (mirrors folded) – 75 inches (84.4 inches with mirrors)
  • Approach Angle – 25 degrees
  • Departure Angle – 27 degrees
  • Max Ground Clearance – 9.8-inches

These dimensions suggest that Rivian R2 will be smaller and more compact compared to the other two counterparts. This makes sense as a new form factor could allure buyers other than only being an affordable electric vehicle (EV).

The leaked specifications might be related to the base variant and it may vary in Rivian R2 Performance. More information about the Rivian R2 will be revealed during the live stream on the launch day.
