Ford is testing Tesla NACS adapter shares CEO
Ford CEO, Jim Farley shared a photograph on X social media and revealed Ford is testing a Tesla NACS adapter. Farley is expected to share some new information about the connector very soon.
The image shows that Ford is likely to use CSS to NACS adapter which is in line with its previous announcement.
Last year, Ford became the first automaker to sign an agreement with Tesla to provide its electric vehicle customers access to more than 12,000 Superchargers across the U.S. and Canada.

The company announced that it would get Tesla-developed adapters for Ford F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach-E, and E-Transit vehicles with Combined Charging System (CCS) port access to Tesla’s V3 Superchargers.
Ford also said a pre-built NACS charging port in future EVs will no longer require an adapter starting in 2025.
As of February 2024, NACS has been adopted by all major automakers including Stellantis, BMW Group, Fisker, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai Motor Group, Jaguar Land Rover, Lucid Motors, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Polestar, Rivian, Subaru, Toyota, Volvo Cars, Mazda and Volkswagen Group.
Ford’s CEO previously said that Mustang Mach E and F-150 Lightning owners will get fast charging adapter but an update on this matter is yet to be shared.
