Cadillac Chief confirms flagship Celestiq production

Celestiq, the flagship all-electric vehicle from Cadillac is now in production, confirms Cadillac Chief John Roth in a recent media briefing about new launches and existing products.

John revealed that the company has begun building “one of one units” and called it the “Halo of Cadillac”. The pricing of the car starts at $340,000 but the availability of the Celestiq remains unclear but a waitlist is in action.

According to the information, the Celestiq is being produced at the General Motors Global Technical Center in Warren, Michigan. The company has prepared $81 million to support the assembly line at GM’s Global Technical Center.

GM Authority reported that GM is planning to make around 100 to 150 units annually.

Celestiq brings a dedicated EV propulsion architecture that combines a 111-kWh battery pack and a two-motor, all-wheel-drive propulsion system to offer an estimated 600 horsepower.

It boasts 640 lb-ft of torque and an estimated range of 300 miles (483 km) with a full charge. Celestiq equips a 200 kW DC fast charging system that could add a 78-mile range in only 10 minutes of charging at a public DC fast charging station.

Celestiq has 11.59.1 front and 11.63.1 rear gear ratios for optimized range and performance. This luxury car can accelerate between 0-60mph within 3.8 seconds.
