How to recover your bricked iPhone after iOS 17.3 beta 2

Restore iOS 17.3 Beta 2 Bricked iPhone

Apple has withdrawn iOS 17.3 beta 2 after it prevented several iPhones from starting up and here is what you need to do to recover your bricked iPhone.

To do so, you need to enable recovery mode and then restore your iPhone via the following instructions.

  • Note – Do not interact with the physical buttons or remove the USB cable during the recovery process.

Recovery Mode:

Turn on your Mac to begin with the process, if you are using a PC, ensure that it has the latest iTunes version.

Connect your iPhone to your Mac or PC via an Apple USB cable.

On a Mac with macOS Catalina or later, open the Finder. On a Mac with macOS Mojave or earlier. On a PC, open iTunes. If iTunes is already open, close it, then open it again.

Next, you need to keep the iPhone connected to the Mac or PC and trigger the recovery mode on the iPhone using the following steps:

  • Press and quickly release the volume up button.
  • Press and quickly release the volume down button.
  • Then, press and hold the side button until you see the recovery mode screen.

Restore:

After enabling the recovery mode on your iPhone, go back to your Mac and open Finder to select your connected iPhone. On PC, you need to go to iTunes and locate an iPhone icon to the top left of the software.

Next, you will see the option to Update or Restore, choose “Update”. Wait while your computer downloads the software for your device.

If the download takes over 15 minutes and your device exits the recovery mode, let the download finish, then repeat to ensure that your device is still connected.

Once completed, you will need to set up a new device.
