SpaceX Ovzon 3 Satellite Mission Rocket Liftoff Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida

On January 3, SpaceX deployed Ovzon 3 satellite into low-Earth orbit via the Falcon 9 reusable rocket. The mission took place from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

Ovzone 3 is a new class from a Swedish company Ovzon and It is a GEO satellite that will cover 1/3 of the earth via its steerable spot beams. It carries high-powered steerable beams as well as an onboard processor to provide mobility and performance.

The satellite maker said that Ovzon 3 is the first of its multiple Ovzon satellites that will expand global reach for increasing SATCOM-as-a-service demand.

The mission liftoff on the first launch window and the first stage booster landed back on Landing Zone 1 at about 8:10 minutes of the mission at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

Within an hour, SpaceX confirmed the deployment of the Ovzon 3 satellite. There were no views of the deployment share due to such a request from Ovzon.

This was the second Falcon 9 mission of the year and the 10th flight for the first stage booster. Yesterday, the space rocket maker opened 2024’s first flight to orbit with six first-gen Direct Cell satellites into orbit.
