Swedish court rejects Tesla appeal for license plate distribution
A Swedish court on Thursday rejected an appeal from Tesla forcing Postnord to deliver its license plates.
Postnord has employees who have joined the Swedish labor union strike, which has been in action since October this year.
Union group IF Metall is pursuing Tesla to sign a collective agreement with the union and after that many of the laborers have joined the strike to support the union including Postnord, a provider of postal services operating in Nordic countries.
Earlier this month, Postnord stopped the shipment of Tesla’s license plate in the country.
Tesla appealed to the court that Postnord should send the mail items to the recipients but the court concluded that Postnord has no such obligation to follow in the current circumstances.
“It is gratifying that the Court of Appeal reaches the only reasonable conclusion, that the constitutionally protected right to strike trumps Tesla’s interests,” said Seko’s president Gabriella Lavecchia.
Tesla’s comment is still pending on this matter.
