Tesla has produced 160k NACS adapters at Giga New York

Electric vehicle (EV) company, Tesla has officially announced that it has produced more 160k NACS adapters at its Gigafactory New York to serve the customers.
Tesla has opened its Supercharging network to allow other non-Tesla EVs to access Superchargers and improve the charger availability.
The company opened NACS in 2022, followed by an initial partnership with Ford in 2023. This event triggered a massive shift in the industry as Rivian, GM, Stellantis, Hyundai, Kia and others also joined the NACS universe.
In early 2024, Tesla officially opened more than 15,000 Superchargers for other EVs with a NACS adapter, which is standardized as SAE J3400.

It is a 5-pin connector supporting both AC and DC fast charging. The connector is lighter, cost-effected compared to Combined Charging System (CCS), and more extensive in terms of availability.
After announcing a partnership with Tesla, Ford also started giving away free NACS adapters. As of March 10, the company has shipped more than 140k NACS adapters. Simultaneously, it has listed NACS adapter for $200 on the official Ford store for new customers.
Rivian has also shipped free adapters for its R1S and R1T customers, but exact number of shipments are not revealed.
It appears, Tesla is producing these NACS adapters for other companies, including Ford, which may be accounting for about 85-90 percent of these 160k units. The rest of them belongs to other NACS partners including Rivian.
