First Tesla Cybercab prototype build slated for this summer

Tesla has confirmed that the Cybercab prototype builds slated to start this summer, which will lead to a wider production early in 2026.
Lars Moravy, VP of Vehicle Engineering at Tesla, told Sandy Munro the company has started installing Cybercab production equipment at Giga Texas and the first prototype builds will start to come out from these lines this summer.
On the other hand, Tesla is considering starting the mass production in early 2026.
Introduced in August last year, Cybercab is designed as a fully autonomous vehicle without driving wheel or paddles. It focuses on self-driven services for customers.

It has a single row passenger seat with a wide legroom and a center display with journey detail and a bunch of online entertainment sources. The rear side has a large space for passenger cargo and luggages.
This vehicle will have a full self driving (FSD) unsupervised running from one end to another. It means, the customer will be able to order a ride with a mobile app, just like a food delivery service. The ride will show estimated time of arrival and cancellation.
To manage these vehicles, Tesla has also built a wireless charger that will help to charge the vehicle as soon as it parks over a charging platform. On the other hand, it has an automatic cleaning robotic arm that can reach through the other side and equips various vacuum mods to pick up various debris and customer’s leftovers.
