xAI releases new Grok 2 chatbot with 3 times performance improvement
Generative AI firm, xAI has released a new Grok 2 model with 3 times the improvements in responses and accuracy compared to the beta version released in August.
In August, the company introduced the Grok 2 model family. This new chatbot is available on social media site X with fast response speed and accuracy over Grok 1.5. The data trained with Grok 2 beta has helped the company to advance the 2nd version.
xAI has been developing this new model since the beta release, which has been under testing for the past few weeks. This new Grok 2 is faster, more accurate, enhances instruction-following, and supports more language.

This addition to the Grok chatbot enables you to get extensive information in each reply. For example, the responses now include data from the internet and citations for each article as source links.
You can see these links on top of the response and click on them to know the source and its origin.
Image Generation with Aurora
Grok was using a third-party image generator model with the initial beta version. Last, week, it revealed Aurora, xAI’s self-developed image generator with photorealistic image generation capability.
The new image generator has immense image quality over its third-party sibling. The output is way more detailed and instruction-friendly compared to the Grok 2 beta. Furthermore, the model’s improved computing power helps users to draw more accurate images.
Speaking of drawing, Grok can use “Draw Me”, which lets you create an image yourself, based on your profile picture and account description. That’s not it, you can remix the image with different scenarios using a new command.
With its wider access, X now has a dedicated X button that will analyze any post on the platform. This can help you to understand the context of posts on your timeline.
Availability
The new Grok 2 models are available for all X users starting including free users. However, Premium and Premium+ users will have higher usage limits and first access to new features.
