xAI is rolling out Web Search result feature for Grok
AI firm xAI has announced the Web Search result feature for the Grok chatbot for X social media users. This feature has been teased before and now it’s here for users.
This is a drastic change in Grok’s capabilities as it takes real-time information from X’s post-data. However, adding search results for a wider context would make a big impact on all of the data fetched across the internet and widen the scale of the information.
The initial search results limit the use of web search results to only a few prompts such as “top headlines for today”. The chatbot will show the summary of these results and the search results (source) at the bottom.
You can side-scroll to view all of the results on the web or it could be seen in groups on the side of the result in mobile version.
xAI team members, Yaroslav confirmed that this is the initial version of web search results and the company will continue to make improvements to the results and how they appear in replies.
The web research results are currently available to web and Android users and iOS users will get this feature soon. The team members are finding bugs and fixing issues in this new function.
Grok is available for paid X accounts and the company is reportedly working on a free version with limited requests that will launch very soon.
