Tesla has officially installed 60000 Supercharger across the globe, creating a new milestone in the electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure industry.

To commemorate this achievement, the new Supercharger post in Japan has a special edition postbox for the 600th in Japan and the 60,000th supercharger globally.

The latter mentioned the starting year of Supercharger as 2012 to 2024. In the past 12 years, the company has started the journey from 0 to 60,000. That’s about 5,000 superchargers on average per year.

That’s a big leap forward for the company and it will expand access for more charging infrastructures to EV buyers. This new Supercharger station in Japan can charge up to 12 vehicles simultaneously and will be available all the time.

With this count, Tesla expanded its lead in the EV charger race, enabling users to locate superchargers through mobile apps and navigate to charging posts. Superchargers provide fast charging access up to 200 miles in about 15 minutes. It provides a max 250 kW charging rate.

NACS

In November 2022, Tesla opened its Supercharger connector and charge port design for other EV makers under the North American Charging Standard (NACS).

Since then, major automakers have partnered with Tesla to adapt its supercharger network for their EVs sold in North America and enhance access to charging stations for their customers.
