Tesla promotes Ashok Elluswamy to Vice President of AI Software
Tesla has promoted Ashok Elluswamy as the new Vice President of the AI Software Division. He has been serving the Autopilot software division as director since May 2019.
He held this position for the past 5 years and 6 months according to his LinkedIn profile. He was in charge of the autonomy software team for Tesla Autopilot.
Before that, he was appointed Senior Staff Software Engineer at Tesla’s Autopilot device (from September 2017 to 2019. Back then, his role was to work on geometric scenes to understand and improve autopilot technologies.
With his previous experiences, Elluswamy has worked for more than 11 years.
According to the information, he was listed as Vice President of AI software in October. He is now chief in charge of full self-driving for vehicles.
Elluswamy has been the most active Tesla personnel on social media site X (formerly Twitter). He has been engaging with Tesla customers and people to answer their queries about existing and upcoming features.
Earlier today, he shared the We Robot event summary revealing that 19 Cybercabs and 29 Model Ys have been deployed for post-event demo drives.
These vehicles have conducted more than 3.5 hours of continuous driving.
