Nissan has announced that its Ariya EVs drivers will get access to Tesla’s Supercharger with NACS support in the U.S. this year.

The automaker also brought the Nissan Energy Charge Network, enabling Ariya customers to find charging stations, check real-time charger availability, and pay for charging using the MyNissan app.

The network aims to simplify these experiences in one package with the new charging network. The charging network has more than 90,000 fast chargers in the US. It combines access from Electrify America, Shell Recharge, ChargePoint, and EVgo networks. Nissan will increase its partners in the future.

The company is preparing an in-app default payment feature launch in November. This will allow you to start a charging session within the new charging network with a tap of the on-screen button.

Unfortunately, Nissan Leaf owners have to find chargers using the NissanConnect EV and Service app.

NACS

Starting this year, Nissan Ariya users will be able to charge at Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) superchargers with an adapter.

A native NACS charge port for Arya will come with 2025 production models. This will make the Japanese car company the latest player in expanding charging coverage for its EVs in the US.

Last month, Sony Honda announced NACS adoption for AFEELA EV for the US and Japan. Ford and Rivian have already rolled out free adapters for their customers.

Hyundai also revealed the 2025 version of IONIQ 5 with a native NACS port. Other companies are waiting to enable NACS support for their new and existing EVs in 2025.
