Apple will launch AI features in phases including Siri with ChatGPT and iOS 18.2 could be the first build to bring this voice assistant integration onboard.

Apple Intelligence is still in beta and it’ll make an official debut with iOS 18.1. Previous report reveals that the first build in this branch could rollout this month.

However, the company may initially introduce some basic features such as writing tools, AI-generated summaries, and notification priority. Users have to wait for a new iOS update to get more of these AI features.

Now, Macrumors contributor Aaron has shared input about the upcoming iOS 18.2 code found on Apple’s backend. , It is carrying Siri with ChatGPT and Visual Intelligence.

At WWDC24, Apple announced a partnership with OpenAI to feature ChatGPT with Siri voice assistant. This integration will allow users to forward their questions to ChatGPT’s latest model. Prior to this, the system will prompt whether to proceed with ChatGPT. Once forwarded, an on-screen window will show you the generated answer.

So far, the iPhone maker has not speculated a rollout date for advanced Siri but it has released a new UI for this voice assistant with iOS 18.1 for developers and public testers.

The assistant still lacks an advanced brain, which should come with future iOS 18 installments. Speaking of intelligence, Visual Intelligence has also made an appearance in iOS 18.2 code.

Using Large Language Models (LLM), visual Intelligence can conduct searches from a device’s camera. You have to point the camera at an object or things you want to learn about.

For example, you can project your camera to the information written on a board and know more about the direction or a place or ask about specifics with ChatGPT about that place and what’s the best way to get there.

These features are likely to roll out with iOS 18.2 beta 2 for developers.
