Tesla has announced that its Referral program is now available for customers in Japan. This will allow existing owners and new customers to earn discounts and credits for each referral.

This program works like this – an existing Tesla owner generates a referral link and shares it with a potential buyer. This could be a friend, family, or any other person that share your link with.

After using your link, the buyer will receive a 70,000 yen discount on a new purchase and the referrer will get 35,000 yen for adding a new customer with the referral link.

However, the referrer can claim referrer credit 10 times a year and the new customer can only get a discount once. The referral credits limit will reset every year on January 1, 2024.

To generate a link, you have to update the Tesla mobile app version 4.37 or later. You can enter your profile and check the Refer and Earn program. Earned credits can be spent on Supercharger charging sessions, getting after-sales services, and Tesla’s online shop.
