OpenAI has started to rollout Advanced Voice capability for Plus and Team users in the ChatGPT app. The latest feature will be available gradually to all eligible users over the course of this week and the following.

The company has released a new version of ChatGPT on the App Store and you can grab it to experience the new Advanced Voice feature. On the other hand, Android users can also try their luck with this release.

Advanced voice allows you to conduct a natural conversation with ChatGPT, enabling fast and easy-to-understand answers with an understanding of human-like interruptions.

The company has introduced five new voices including Vale (bright and inquisitive), Spruce (Calm and affirming), Arbor (Easygoing and versatile), Maple (Cheerful and Candid), and Sol (savvy and relaxed). There might be four more voices that may come in future updates.

You can tweak the voice selection with the settings icon on the top right corner of the screen.

Custom Instructions

ChatGPT users can improve their experience with advanced voice by providing details of how their conversation should go. You can provide details such as name and location, set conversation tone, response style, etc.

These instructions will then be applied to each new conversation. For example, you can ask the voice to find a nearby restaurant without telling the location.

In addition to these new features and capabilities, OpenAi has improved the speed and smoothness of accents in select foreign languages for an advanced voice system.
