On September 20, 2024, Rocket Lab launched the 53rd Electron rocket mission to orbit with Kineis IoT satellites.

The rocket was launched from Launch Complex 1, Mahia, New Zealand. The mission is the second of the five dedicated Electron launches for Kineis. Rocket Lab has contracted these five missions to launch 25 satellites to build a constellation.

The satellite IoT operator is backed by private and public investors including the French government’s space agency CNES (Center National d’Etudes Spatiales) and CLS (Collecte Localisation Satellites) an international space-based solution provider to improve global IoT connectivity.

The company attempted a launch window earlier this week but aborted prior to liftoff.

These missions are specifically designed specifically for the Kineis mission and give the customer more control over the launch schedule, orbit, and deployment parameters.
