SpaceX Polaris Dawn Crew Landing

SpaceX has completed the Polaris Dawn crew return to Earth with the Dragon spacecraft splashdown and a video shows the crew coming out of the pod safe and sound.

Polaris Dawn mission included four crewmates Mission Commander, Jared Isaacman, Mission Pilot Kidd Poteet, Mission Specialist Sarah Gillis, and Anna Menon.

SpaceX commanded Dragon’s atmospheric reentry at 3:36 a.m. ET off the coast of Dry Tortugas in Florida. The landing phase includes:

  • Trunk Jettison
  • Starting Deorbit burn
  • Ending Deorbit burn
  • Closing Nosecone
  • Deploying Drogue parachutes
  • Main parachutes deployment
  • Dragon splashdown

This splashdown marks the end of this multi-day mission, which began on September 10. Throughout this space trip, the crew completed different objectives including scientific research, the Starlink test, and the first-ever commercial spacewalk.
