Electric vehicle (EV) maker Rivian has set a new personal record at Pikes Peak hill climb in Colorado with the 2024 Quad-Motor Rivian R1T.

102nd running Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC) is sponsored by Gran Turismo and organized at the summit of Pikes Peak, Colorado. This claim features 156 turns and 4,720 feet in height, which makes the acceleration tough and competitive.

Making his second race for Rivian, driver Gardner Nichols has surpassed the previous record to set a new one at 10:53:883. Nichols drove a first-gen R1T in 2023 with a best of 11:23:983. That cuts 30 seconds this year with the help of the new R1T Ascend.

“Gardner Nichols and his Quad-Motor Gen 2 R1T blazed across the finish line in 10:53.883 — beating the time he set last year by 30 seconds and yet again claiming the record for fastest production truck to ever summit this iconic course.” Congratulates Rivian.

Rivian R1T 2024 models come with numerous upgrades including improved headlights and increased power. The Quad-Motor tops the line with a newly designed motor, manufactured in hours by the EV maker.
