Google and Oracle team up for cloud infrastructure improvements
Google and Oracle announced a strategic partnership to improve cloud infrastructure for joint customers across Google Cloud and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
This partnership enables joint customers to migrate, advance, and manage their Oracle-based applications in the cloud. The new integrated solutions include unified engineering, product, and commercial models enabling choice and flexibility provided by the enterprise-level collaborative support model.
New solutions are centered around Oracle Database@Google Cloud. That means Oracle will directly host, operate, and manage Oracle database services within Google Cloud data centers. This will start in North America and Europe, followed by global expansion.
This new approach will let customers host Oracle database services including Exadata Cloud Service and Oracle Autonomous Database via Google’s data centers.
Additionally, customers will be able to interconnect Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Google Cloud without cross-cloud data transfer charges. Furthermore, both companies will offer customer support to run Oracle applications on the Google Cloud platform.
Oracle Database@Google Cloud consists of the new database services in a Google Cloud data center running on OCI hardware. Customers can use advanced managed services for Oracle Database, and Oracle Autonomous Database.
Furthermore, Customers will get the option to migrate their mission-critical database workloads to the advanced platform for Oracle Database, and Oracle Exadata Database Cloud service. Moreover, customers can also run their Oracle databases on Google Compute Engine.
Customers can procure available services from Google Marketplace and manage them from their Google Cloud Console. You can check more details on their official website.
