Jeep Wagoneer S Unveils: BEV SUV with 600hp, 300 miles range, and more
Jeep has unveiled Wagoneer S, its first battery electric vehicle (BEV) SUV and it will come first in the US and Canada in the fall of 2024. The market availability will expand to other countries later on.
This new BEV will be available at all Jeep EV-certified dealerships in the second half of this year. Its Launch Edition has a starting price of $71,995 including destination charges and it’s eligible for a $7,500 Federal tax credit.
Jeep Wagoneer S offers more than 300 miles of driving range on a single charge. It boasts 600 horsepower, accelerates 0-60 in 3.4 seconds, and provides a 617 lb.-ft of torque. This EV brings the Select-Terrain traction control system for drive-through in different weather and road conditions. That includes five driving modes – Auto, Sport, Eco, Snow, and Sand.
The new Jeep Wagoneer S comes with a 100-kilowatt-hour battery pack, enabling owners to charge the vehicle from 20-80% in 23 minutes with a DC fast charger. Its Launch Edition includes a 48-amp level 2 home charger or public charging credits through Free2move Charger.
Under the structure, Wagoneer S is using a BEV-native STLA Large platform with adjusted length, width, suspension, and powertrain. The platform combines the electric motor, gearing, and power electronics into a single unit for an efficient driving experience. Jeep says it has improved the body torsion stiffness by 35% over previous midsize-segment Jeep brand SUVs.
The automaker has installed a screen space of more than 45 inches including a 10.25-inch front screen. The car also integrates a 12.3-inch center display including refined cross-metal deco trim with a laced pattern.
The launch edition comes with customization ambient lighting with 64 preset colors. The car also lets you entertain with its 1,200-watt amplifier and 12-inch subwoofer.
