SpaceX resolves Starlink network outage affecting thousands of customers
SpaceX has confirmed that Starlink is now online after a short outage struck its satellite network architecture for global customers.
“Starlink is currently in a network outage and we are actively implementing a solution. We appreciate your patience, we’ll share an update once this issue is resolved” wrote Starlink on X on Tuesday.
Roughly 40,000 people reported an outage on Downdetector. Within 30 minutes, the company patched a solution to this problem to resolve the outage. However, there’s no explanation available about the cause of this network down time.
Starlink is a satellite-powered internet service designed to provide network coverage in remote areas where traditional communication isn’t available.
As of May 20, SpaceX achieved more than 3 million Starlink users worldwide in nearly 100 countries. Starlink is also the largest satellite constellation operated by SpaceX accounting for roughly 60 percent of the overall satellites orbiting around the Earth.
Starlink supports two-step installation with its compact dish using a plug-and-use setup. It could connect the consumer to network services from most of the areas.
