xAI rolling out Grok AI workspaces feature

Grok is getting a Workspaces feature, allowing users to get a custom conversation experience with a set of instructions for replies. Workspaces are rolling out for the Grok web platform, and you can access it from the home screen.

This feature will let you create a separate room for dedicate conversation. For example, you can instruct Grok to talk like a historian and each time when you ask a question, the AI will reply in the same way. Basically, Workspaces let you set a tone and a personality for all AI replies.

The good thing about this feature is that you can create many workspaces and each will work as a separate chatroom with your custom instructions on the tone and personality.

To create a workspace, click on the Workspaces on the home page, this will take you to a new screen. Here you will see a button “Instructions”, to describe the tone and personality of Grok, which will apply to all conversation in this workspace.

On the top left, you can rename the workspace, so this workspace could become distinctive among other workspaces if you want to create more of these.

Except for the instructions, you will find the rest of the user interface similar to the regular features. You can conduct DeepSearch, DeeperSearch, Think, upload files, switch models similar to the way you do on the home screen. However, you cannot switch personalities since this is already a custom persona.

You can exit a workspace anytime with a tap on the Grok icon or delete any if you don’t find them useful.
