Rivian reveals mobile app 3.0, coming later this month

Rivian has announced mobile app 3.0 with new user interface upgrades and changes to improve its customer experience and assistance in remote control.

Wassym Bensaid, Software chief at Rivian has shared an early look at the app interface with some new changes including optimized fonts, new car avatar, reshuffled top toolbar.

The home includes different sections including Climate Control, Energy insights, Gear Guard and Vehicle location. Further scroll will take to the vehicle profile, connectivity, and software version details. The app also supports dark mode for extended interface visibility.

Besides the UI, Rivian’s software chief hasn’t shared any details about other new additions to this app update.

Wassym confirmed that the Rivian mobile app 3.0 rollout to users later this month. It will be available for iOS users, but Android availability is not shared at the moment.

Rivian app enables users to use the phone as a virtual key, you can lock/unlock and change the vehicle’s climate remotely. The app has trip planning to see recommended routes and charging stops based on your preferences.

You can search the map for points of interest and nearby chargers and send any destination to your vehicle. Other features in the app include range and charging status, start software updates and more.
