Giga Berlin completes 500k Model Y production as new version hits deliveries

Tesla has officially announced that its Giga Berlin factory has completed 500k Model Y production as of late March. This development comes amid the company is expanding a new version of this passenger car in Europe.
For the past two years, the Model Y has been the top family vehicle in the world, a unique design and size makes it a top pick in the category.
Its latest version has numerous upgrades, including the design side with a facelift featuring a lightbar in the front. The headlights are now adjusted a few inches down near the air vents and the wheels are optimized for a better range efficiency.
The rear side of the vehicle brings a cross-car lamp with reflective lighting, which is different from the outgoing model. The company made a couple of new upgrades in the interior, such as heating and ventilation in the front row and powered rear row.

The passenger row has a separate 8-inch screen with dedicated climate and entertainment. Tesla has also fed this car with an ambient lighting around the deck to the rear gates.
Talking about the production, Giga Berlin plant started first deliveries of the Model Y in March 2022. Therefore, the latest milestone comes after more than 1,100 days.
In a recent interview, Andre Thierig, Senior Director of Manufacturing at Giga Berlin, revealed that the EV maker is aiming to produce 5,000 new Model Ys per week to cope up with the demand in Europe.
