Tesla has started producing non-Launch Series units of the New Model Y at Giga Texas facility, suggesting cheaper models are heading to the configurator.

Visuals coming from Joe Tegtmeyer showed more than 100 Model Ys parked at Giga Texas production facility. The rear side view reveals that the Long-Range badge has replaced the Launch Series. On the other hand, X user @dkrasniy shared a view from the Fremont factory, showing the new Model Y with Dual Motor badge.

In January, Tesla introduced the refreshed Model Y in the US. This vehicle has numerous design upgrades, including a front facelift with a wide lightbar and adjusted headlights. The rear side has a cross-car lamp with reflective lighting.

The wheels are optimized for better range efficiency, and a front camera is installed to improve the on-road visibility.

The new Model Y brings heated and ventilated front seats and powered rear seats that could recline and incline with a push button. The company has wrapped the front deck all the way to the rear side with ambient lighting.

The initial version was labeled as Launch Series, a limited edition unveiled for early customers. This version is priced at $59,990 and eligible for a $7,500 Federal tax credit. This price covers a couple of paid configuration free for customers.

Earlier this month, the company handed over the first set of new Model Ys by organizing a special delivery event at Giga Texas and Fremont Factory. The company has already started Model Y product at four of its factories a month ago, and listed cheaper models in Europe and Asia.

However, the US customers could get more options very soon.

Lars Moravy, VP of Vehicle Engineering at Tesla, recently revealed that the company is working on Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) and Performance version of the car that will come later this year.

Since, Launch Series is an AWD Long Range, the company will discontinue the limited edition and bring as a regular version for customers.
