Last week, Tesla slashed the Model Y inventory prices on all three models – RWD, AWD and Performance. The company reduced the Model Y up to $9,000 including both new and demo vehicles.
A legacy Model Y Performance has been tagged with $8,320 discount, which was built in the first quarter of 2025. These were available with quicksilver paint, offer 277 miles of range, equips 21-inch wheels, white interior, 5 seats and a towing package.
This development comes amid the introduction of the new Model Y. The company has launched this refreshed vehicle with a facelift design and a bunch of other upgrades.
The new model has a front lightbar, it’s aerodynamically optimized, the wheels bring range efficiency and the rear side also has a cross-car reflective lamp. This vehicle has new seat heating and ventilation, ambient lighting, an 8-inch display for the second row and powered passengers’ seat.
In the first quarter, the company started producing the new Model Y in the Fremont factory alongside the old Model Y to have sufficient inventory.
Tesla is selling the Model Y limited edition in the US and affordable variants – RWD yet to debut on the configurator. Since Tesla is selling the limited edition at $60,000 (excluding tax credit), the inventory discount on newly built legacy Model Y allowed the customers to catch one unit at a lower price, contributing to the sold out states.
