Tesla is planning to launch its electric vehicles (EVs) in the Middle East by adding the largest oil producer Saudi Arabia to the list of its markets soon as reported by AGBI. Currently, the company sells its EVs in Israel, UAE, Jordan and Quater.

This exclusive report reveals that Tesla has plans to enter this market by offering its products through pop-up stores and gradually opening its own showroom and service center in the market.

Not only that, Tesla could also launch its Supercharger network inside Saudi Arabia, which will be open to other EV brands that may the part of the NACS universe.

Saudi Arabia is still a low EV consumption market, with just over 1 percent EV sales and only 7 percent of all vehicle models being EVs, according to data from PwC 2024 Electric Mobility report.

This low EV consumption also leads to a low charger infrastructure with only 104 charging stations recorded in 2023.

Yet, the government of Saudi Arabia has set an ambitious goal of eliminating gas vehicles and turning 30 percent of the overall traffic to electric by 2030 to cut emissions by 50 percent.

PwC report also suggests that consumers in Saudi are considering EVs more than ever and aiming for new models.

However, Tesla is not the only one interested in this market, as its competitors from the home ground and the US are already in the process of sending their EV models to consumers.
