Tesla CEO, Elon Musk said xAI’s Grok AI chatbot is coming to all EVs soon. Musk confirmed that the generative AI model will allow users to ask anything on the go.

“So you will just to be able to talk to your Tesla and ask for anything,” said Musk during an X live stream on Tuesday.

So far, Teslas doesn’t offer large language models (LLMs) or generative AI features. However, this integration may change these products for an extended user experience such as navigational activities or setting routes to a Supercharger with more accuracy.

Grok is designed and developed by xAI, another company owned by Musk. It competes against OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google’s Gemini, and others. However, Grok has two different modes to answer a question – Fun and regular.

In the past year, xAI has made new upgrades to the chatbot including a faster response rate and photorealistic image generation capability. Meanwhile, its current integration is limited to X and xAI app users.

Grok also supports voice interactions, which will next house inside a Tesla. Optimizations to voice recognition will be crucial for natural user interactions as you can expect from an LLM.

Still, we need to wait to see what Tesla is cooking with Grok and whether HW3 models will support its generative AI features.
