Lucid Gravity Grand Touring will use Panasonic lithium-ion EV battery
Premium electric vehicle (EV) maker Lucid has announced that its Gravity Grand Touring electric SUV will use Panasonic Energy’s lithium-ion EV battery cells.
The Grand Touring Gravity model will deliver an EPA-estimated range of up to 450 miles from this battery pack while reducing overall size. This pack was developed in a collaboration between the two companies.
Lucid started taking orders for Gravity SUV by late 2024 and started deliveries by the end of the year. It has up to 120 cubic feet of usable cargo space. It can house up to seven adults in its three rows.
The Grand Touring version offers 828 horsepower and 0-60 mph acceleration in 3.5 seconds.
The Lucid Gravity Grand Touring will have a starting price of $94,900 and already entered production in December 2024 at its Arizona factory. It uses Panasonic’s 2170 cylindrical lithium-ion battery cells with 800Wh/L energy density. These high-capacity cells enable fast charging and high performance.
On the other hand, the Touring model will have a starting price of $79,000, which could go official in late 2025. This model will also equip 2170 batteries.
