SpaceX wrapped up 2024 with last Falcon 9 mission from Florida

SpaceX Falcon 9 liftoff from Launch Complex 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida

On December 30, 2024, SpaceX launched its last mission of 2024 and wrapped up this year with the most successful flights. The latest mission carried 21 Starlink satellites including 13 with Direct to Cell capabilities.

The rocket lifted off from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. In the past two days, the rocket maker initiated two missions including Astranis: From One to Many missions as well as 22 Starlink satellites.

The last SpaceX mission for 2024 included a booster completing its 16th overall flight, which previously supported Crew-6, BlueBird-1, USSF-124, mPOWER-B, and 11 Starlink missions.

After stage separation, the booster performed a boostback burn and entered a return trajectory, after exhausting the final burn, the rocket landed on the Just Read the Instructions droneship, stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.

Kiko Dontchev, Vice President of Launch at SpaceX said the company is targeting 134 launches in 2024. These numbers are 2 lower than the previously decided 136.

“Ultimately, there Is only a number that truly matters. Zero failure. Our priority is – and will remain – safety and reliability above all else.” wrote Kiko on X.
