Tesla will improve drive handling with FSD v13.4

Ashok Elluswamy, Tesla AI software vice president has announced handling improvement for the Full Self Driving (FSD) version 13 with the upcoming v13.4 update.

FSD is a full self-driving technology designed and developed for self-driving cars. The new version 13 promises major improvements over v12 including improvement in miles between interventions.

Other than driving, this major upgrade improves the system’s spatial capabilities including incoming and upcoming traffic. Not only that, it can detect vehicles that requires special attentions.

An X user posted a video demonstration of the FSD v13 and how it handles driving for emergency vehicles including an ambulance.

The uploader confirmed that the vehicle was stopped at a signal and it didn’t move forward until the ambulance passed through the turn ahead despite getting a green signal.

On that note, Ashok mentioned “even better handling including audio inputs coming in FSD 13.4”.

It means that the coming will improve vehicle handling in such scenarios where it has to cooperate with the on-road vehicles and make decisions similar to a human.

The update will also add audio input to notify the user that the vehicle is stopped due to such a reason and will remain paused until the event is completed.

Tesla has recently released FSD 13.2.1 for all of its vehicles including Model 3, Y, and Cybertruck. Allowing a wider user base to experience the latest build with new capabilities.

Meanwhile, Tesla AI VP has not confirmed the rollout date for FSD v13.4 rollout date.
