xAI Grok Aurora Image Generator: Everything you need to know
Generative AI company xAI has released its Image Generator model – Aurora for Grok users across X social media platforms.
Aurora is an autoregressive mixture-of-experts network trained to predict the next token from interleaved text and image data. It delivers massive visual quality improvement compared to the existing image generation tool.
In August, xAI announced a partnership with Black Forest Labs to feature its Flux image generation model for the Grok 2 family. Users can type in a description and get a result within a few seconds.
Elon Musk, founder of xAI said in a X post today that the development of this new image generator started 6 months prior to release. It seems that the company has decided on this move before launching Flux with Grok 2 models.
Aurora is trained on billions of examples from the internet to understand different types of facial traits, people, architectures, places, geographical information, creatures, genres, and many more.
This training has enabled the model to create photorealistic results based on the text instructions. This reflects on the image output as confirmed by ourselves, the final output is astonishing as it was taken with a camera.
Here are a few examples of the image generation styles with Aurora:
- Abstract
- A person in different clothing and scenarios
- Text-based images with specific inclusion of elements
- Things and objects
- A special artifact
- Mixing image tyles
- Mixing personal traits
- Creating comic character
- Cute drawings
- Fantasy images
- Anime characters
Image editing
Other than creation, Aurora can also edit user-uploaded images based on the instructions. This is a whole new ability that will come to Grok users in the near future.
You can use the new Aurora image generator with Grok via X social media site, open X.com or X app on mobile. Go to Grok and type in your image description.
