Apple wants to rebrand its smart home devices strategy with a new display equipped HomePod, which could launch somewhere next year.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the company is planning mass production for this new HomePod in the first quarter of 2025 and its release around WWDC 25 in the third quarter of 2025. It was previously predicted to be unveiled in the first quarter of 2025.

This delay is related to the software development and the company is working within the timeframe to come up with a perfect solution for its new home devices.

This HomePod will use an A18 chipset, optimized for smart features. It will equip a 6.7-inch screen, allowing users to interact with the device, and may also support the Apple Intelligence features.

This new smart home device is tailored to offer more compared to the current generation. This move could also be seen as a major change in Apple’s strategy around the home device market.

The Cupertino-based tech giant also has a smart camera to launch in 2026. It will support wireless connectivity and work in synchronization with the new HomePod.

The new device could bring user authentication for smart home devices to provide a safer user experience.

The new HomePod with a touch screen could see 500,000 units of production in the second half of 2025. The device maker could increase the units based on market response.
