Tesla reveals how it tests new FSD versions [Video]
Tesla is ramping up new Full Self Driving (FSD) version rollouts for users, prior to rollout, it conducts various tests on the new software to check essential safety features. That being said, Tesla has now shared some examples, of how it tests a new FSD version including the following:
- Reverse Cut-in (Occluded)
- Peeking (Occluded)
- Left Turn Cut-In
- Parallel Cut-In (Occluded)
- Yield for Oncoming During Overtake
- Stop Sign Right-of-Way Violator
- Door Opening During Overtake
- Right Turn Harsh Braking
- Left Turn Across Path
- Cut-Out to Static Cone
- Dynamic Debris (Dropped Cone)
- U-Turn Cut-In (Occluded)
- High-Speed Cut-Out to Stationary Vehicle
- High-Speed Harsh Braking
- High-Speed Stationary Child
- High-Speed Crossing Child
Tests
These tests show the car’s maneuvering and braking capability in instantaneous scenarios. For example, when another vehicle comes out of nowhere on a forward right turn. Or a driver takes out a vehicle in reserves from behind another parked vehicle.
These 16 examples are one of those test plans for new FSD builds and provide important information about the faults to fix and rollout the new build to public users. It also ensures that all users have a safe self-driving experience without lacking any essential safety features.
