Apple rolls out iOS 18.1.1 and iPadOS 18.1.1 with security patches

Apple has released iOS 18.1.1 and iPadOS 18.1.1 software updates for iPhones and iPad devices with important security patches to fix some bugs and system flaws.

iOS 18.1 is the entrance for Apple Intelligence in iPhones and other devices, enabling generative AI features for eligible users. Besides bringing the first batch of AI capabilities, the update is also available for non-Apple Intelligence devices.

You can download the iOS 18.1.1 and iPadOS 18.1.1 via Settings > General > Software updates and follow the on-screen instructions.

“JavaScriptCore

Processing maliciously crafted web content may lead to arbitrary code execution. Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited on Intel-based Mac systems.

WebKit

Processing maliciously crafted web content may lead to a cross-site scripting attack. Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited on Intel-based Mac systems.”

These security patches will be available for iPhone XS and later, iPad Pro 13-inch, iPad Pro 12.9-inch 3rd generation and later, iPad Pro 11-inch 1st generation and later, iPad Air 3rd generation and later, iPad 7th generation and later, and iPad mini 5th generation and later.

The company has fixed the JavaScriptCore issue with improved checks. On the other hand, the WebKit issue was addressed with improved state management.
