Tesla CEO, Elon Musk has raised hopes for a large electric SUV, which could be bigger than Model Y, the world’s most popular family SUV.

In a conversation posted on X, a user complained about the housing capacity of the Model X. The user specifically targeted the occupancy problem for large families including 3 kids, a dog, and cargo space.

“I was at my neighborhood Tesla store yesterday and wanted to make sure again, that the X model is not big enough for my family,” wrote the user on X.

Another user @seibtnaomi captioned this post and asked the Tesla CEO about any possibility of a large-size vehicle and the CEO replied “Ok”. Musk has a history of brief replies on his social media platform previously known as Twitter.

It could also mean he could push this idea into production or expand any existing models to improve its occupancy capacity. However, none of these are confirmed at the moment.

For now, Model Y is the most convenient family car offering up to 7 seats with an add-on. This model made some adjustments in the rear trunk to provide extra space for small passengers.

The current Tesla lineup doesn’t include any large-size SUVs. It has plans to introduce a large electric van with autonomous technology, which will take a few years to enter the road.

In the meantime, large electric SUV lovers are opting for Rivian R1S. Adding to this, Lucid has also unveiled its new Gravity electric SUV for people who want more space in their car.

In that case, Tesla should also bring a new model for customers who can buy a new car without worrying about space. The design and production of new vehicles take time but a crossover could resolve many of these challenges.
