Apple wants to reinvent the iPhone and the road to this journey will start with the iPhone 17 Slim featuring the slimmest design in any iPhone launched to date.

Macrumors brought this new insight from Apple analyst Jeff Pu, saying that the company will introduce the iPhone 17 slim with 6mm thickness to achieve an ultra-slim design.

This new Apple device will be all about its aesthetics, and it wants to be the first major implication of such a design that could easily fit your hands.

So ease of access and portability will be a major goal of the iPhone 17 Slim. That’s how it will beat the iPhone 6, the thinnest ever iPhone with only 6.9mm thickness.

A smartphone’s thickness is based on the internal components and hardware. A premium smartphone brings high-end specifications, which can only be enabled with the best hardware. Eventually, it ends up increasing weight and grabbing more space inside the device.

In the past decade, iPhones along with Android devices have gained massive weight due to the addition of larger screens and new technologies.

The latest iPhone 16 Pro Max is 8.25mm thick, which sums up its new features and hardware upgrades. If Apple is planning to beat the iPhone 6’s design, it may also have to give up on these bulky specs and go simple, just like the predecessor.

iPhone 6 had a 4.7-inch display and a single rear camera. There’s not much to talk about the device and the iPhone 17 Slim might be the same.

This model won’t bring advanced specifications compared to the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. However, there’s one thing that you can expect that this device is likely to be as expensive as the high-end device.

Apple has not said anything about the next-gen iPhone but there’s an entire year to wait for this lineup’s release.
