Tesla has announced the V4 Cabinet with up to 500kW Supercharging for cars and 1.2MW for Semi electric trucks. This will be a major leap over 350kW capacity, allowing these two types of vehicles to ramp up the charging speed at an immense level.

This new improvement also shows how far the EV maker has come in developing the charging infrastructure from opening the first Supercharger in 2012 with 90kW of speed.

Since then, Tesla engineers have been working on upgrades for charging speeds. Last year, the company introduced V4 post with new improvements for ultra-fast charging capacity.

The new V4 Cabinet will enable even faster charging with 400-1000V vehicle architecture. It has new electronic components designed for reliability with 3 times density to enable more throughput with cost efficiency.

Cybertruck can now experience 30% faster charging compared to the existing infrastructure. Compared to CT, Model 3, Y, S, and X will continue to use 250kW charger rates similar to the V3 Cabinet to fill 200 miles in 15 minutes.

This V4 cabinet includes 8 posts which will improve the rate of deployment twice as fast compared to its predecessor.
