xAI Grok to get web search and relevant result features
AI company xAI has plans to introduce web search and relevant web results features for the Grok chatbot on X social media platform reveals app researcher @nima_owji. Though there’s no visual clue available about this feature, Grok could inbuilt this web search to tag more information with replies.
Grok is a large language model (LLM) designed and developed for user interactions. Its basic features are similar to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google’s Gemini, Anthropic’s Claude, and others.
Aside from the common user interaction framework, Grok offers a few of its special perks including the Fun mode. Users of this social media can use Grok anytime from the menu bar. It requires a Premium or Premium+ paid subscription plan to access Grok.
A recent report reveals that Grok will offer a free usage plan with limits. However, the free plan is yet to make a public debut.
Perplexity and ChatGPT Search
Grok users can generate images with a description and identify images and screenshots. It also offers fast response with version 2.0 but web search will be a whole new level of interactive experience.
This feature is not new to generative AI technologies. Perplexity is one of the popular names in this field to offer web searches and associate them with every response. This approach has made this AI model unique for such tasks.
Web search is picking the pace for generative AI models including ChatGPT. A few weeks ago, OpenAI announced a search feature for ChatGPT. The tool allows users to see optimized results featured with source links.
The results are interactive and highlight important information. To enhance the experience, ChatGPT Search will provide different categories including weather, stocks, sports, news, and maps.
Grok Search
Grok already has real-time access to X’s content, with web search, it can fuse both results to improve web searches beyond Google. However, we’ll have to see the real implications of this feature.
