Apple is rolling out iOS 18.2 beta 2 with a new limit option for free ChatGPT usage and to upgrade from with ChatGPT Plus plan. The usage will reset every day after 24 hours.

iOS 18.2 beta 1 introduced ChatGPT integration within Apple Intelligence. Though the feature was announced as a part of this generative AI suit but now renamed as “Extension”.

The Cupertino-based tech giant is not serving this as an integration instead it is a third-party plugin. It appears true because you can turn off ChatGPT on iOS 18.2. The initial iOS 18.2 build brought free usage for ChatGPT but the new second beta limited all requests.

What’s New

iPhone 16 series and iPhone 15 Pro models can download the new iOS 18.2 beta to access the ChatGPT extension. This integration primarily appears in Siri and triggers when you ask anything to the voice assistant.

If the question is complex, Siri will prompt a confirmation window to get an answer from ChatGPT. You can confirm that prompt to get the answer on a pop-up ChatGPT window.

These iPhones now have a ChatGPT menu to manage settings. You can enable/disable this feature, sign in with your account, and buy a “ChatGPT Plus” from the menu.
