Apple is rolling out the iOS 18.2 beta 2 for developers. This software update refines some new Apple Intelligence features rolled out a week ago.

Apple Intelligence is a suite of generative AI features. Despite its active promotion, the iPhone maker is still running behind the schedule for AI features. On the other hand, it’s available only to six iPhones including iPhone 16 series and 15 Pro models.

Last week, the company finally released the first Apple Intelligence installment for these devices. The update brings generative writing tools, better notification management, AI-generated summary, and transcription for mail and other apps.

On the other hand, the iOS 18.2 developer beta has interesting upgrades to create AI images. The Image Playground app helps you generate an image with a prompt and edit it with additional details.

You can also generate emojis and the Image Wand tool lets you make text content interesting. Other than these, iOS 18.2 adds ChatGPT integration to Siri.

iOS 18.1 brings Siri UI and animations, which is well received by iPhone users. However, its brain still functions like an old version due to the lack of new AI models.

However, the ChatGPT integration will allow you to transfer the queries from Siri and receive a well-described answer. This service is free for all iPhone users but you will see an option in the Settings to add an OpenAI account in order to save your conversation.

Furthermore, Visual intelligence in this update lets you identify any visual scene in front to know more about

Waitlist

iOS 18.2 has a waitlist for image creation tools and users have to request early access to use these new features. Early testers reported that the waitlist approval is taking a long time.

However, Apple is conducting these waitlist approval in batches and it may take some time to fulfill all early access.
