SpaceX launches 200th Starlink mission from Florida
On October 30, 2024, SpaceX launched its 200th Starlink mission with Falcon 9 rocket from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. Earlier in the morning, the space rocket maker deployed 20 Starlink in orbit including 13 Direct to Cell satellites to improve connectivity.
Starlink constellation is designed to provide satellite internet around the globe. Its internet connection runs on wireless transmission directly from the satellites orbiting the Earth.
This was the 14th flight for the first stage booster, which previously supported mPOWER-B, BlueBird-1, Crew-6, USSF-124, and 10 Starlink missions.
Falcon 9 consists of two stages and the first stage liftoff of the entire mission to the upper atmosphere. From there, it separates and autonomously returns to a landing droneship.
