A screenshot shared by the software chief shows a quick control menu on top of the control center. The options include lock/unlock control, climate control, vent windows, and frunk opening.

Rivian already offers app widgets with different quick access options for iOS and Android users. Among these, large widgets show the power level of the EV.

However, Apple recently released a redesigned control center with iOS 18. There are many new changes made to this feature for iPhone users including the control gallery. Users now have the ability to add/remove or reorganize the control center after upgrading to iOS 18.

This freedom enables developers to customize their app experience and roll it out to users. The screenshot has these custom app controls right above the control center, which is kind of unique compared to the existing version.

Rivian will release the new iOS app controls with a new update next week and you can check it on App Store. Meanwhile, no such feature announced for Android devices.
