Apple has released iOS 18.2 beta for users, which brings a couple of new Apple Intelligence features including Image Creation tools.

This AI suit includes the Image Playground app, Genmoji, and Magic Wand. These tools use generative AI image models to create pictures, emojis, and more. However, iOS 18.2 users need to request access to Image Creation via waitlist but Apple is taking time to clear all approvals.

This is more complicated than iOS 18.1 beta, which brought the first look at Apple Intelligence in the accessibility settings. Though it requires users to enroll for early access, the Apple Intelligence waitlist wasn’t as complicated as Image Creation.

After downloading the iOS 18.2 developer beta, users can tap on the Playground app to request early access. Once enrolled, users will be greeted with an “Early Request Accepted” message.

iOS 18.2 users on social media site X shared their frustration. Some expressed that it’s been waiting for approval since enrolling on the Image Creation waitlist. In the meantime, many users have already received access and started using these three generative AI image tools.

On this matter, Apple is also notifying users that new generative image features will rollout gradually in the next few weeks. The access won’t be granted to all users simultaneously. Apple’s Senior Vice President has also shared a message on this matter, you can check it here.
