Tesla Produced 1 Millionth Model Y at Fremont Factory

Tesla has announced that its Fremont Factory has produced the 1 millionth Model Y electric SUV at the GA4 assembly line. The company also shared that the first Model 3 was rolled out of the line on June 8, 2018.

These two are the most popular electric vehicles (EVs) and the most considerable ones. Tesla produces them in high volume at the GA4 line.

This announcement came within a week of completing the 7 millionth vehicle rollout from the same factory, showing massive progress in Tesla’s manufacturing capability.

Fremont facility services as a hub for Model 3, Model Y, Model X, and Model S production. It is one of the largest manufacturing sites in California. Tesla employed more than 22,000 people at the facility as of 2022 and has continued to recruit new job roles since then.

Tesla produced 1.8+ million EVS in 2023 with a 35% increase compared to a year earlier. This was an all-time high production for the EV maker on an annual basis.

In Q3, 2024, Tesla produced 469,796 units and delivered 462,890 units. This is a sharp increase compared to the previous quarter. However, the company wants to go even further in Q4.

Meanwhile, it is expected to improve next year’s volume growth by up to 30 percent. A report suggests that new affordable model production preparations are underway for next year and Tesla could get a huge increase in orders.
