Tesla CEO, Elon Musk said his team is making progress with the Roadster development and it’s close to finalizing the design, an identical statement to previous ones.

In the past few years, Tesla has upgraded its existing fleet several times. It recently upgraded the Model 3 and reportedly preparing a new design for Model Y to launch in 2025.

Yet, the mystery around Roadster remains. A new version of this electric vehicle (EV) has been in limbo for years but Tesla is keen on its launch.

There could be several challenges around the development including performance and range. The Roadster will be the most powerful Tesla model produced and the company wants to feed this vehicle with the utmost capabilities.

In February, Musk said Tesla upgraded its design goals for the new Roadster and “There will never be another car like this if you can even call it a car” he wrote on social media site X. However, industry observer believes electric vehicle’s performance is constrained due to electric motors.

To argue, the Tesla Chief mentioned this new vehicle will use SpaceX technologies without revealing anything specific. “Far faster than any sportscar,” he said during an interview in March.
