Tesla broke ground for the largest 168 stall Supercharger
Tesla has broken ground on the Supercharge project called “Oasis” with a 168-stall Supercharger, its largest charging site to date.
Tesla’s top Supercharger official, Max de Zegher made this announcement and confirmed the Supercharger location at Lost Hills, California.
In October 2022, Tesla hosted one of the first charging locations at Harris Ranch CA. The stall had one 90kW supercharger. In 2014, it hosted battery swap pilots. This year, the station has 98 stalls of 250kW Supercharger services with Tesla Megapack and solar canopies.
The company wants to take its appearance in California even further with this new project. Here are the key highlights from this announcement:

- 1.5 mW grid service (before future expansion)
- 11mW of ground mount solar and canopies
- 10 Tesla Megapack with 39MWh of storage
This new Supercharger site boasts massive 168 stalls, designed to charge many vehicles simultaneously. These will provide service to a large volume of Tesla vehicles going through the route.
It’s initially limited to a grid service of 1.5 MW. This means the charging capacity is constrained by the amount of power it can draw from the electrical grid. The company plans to expand the grid service in the future.
The Supercharger chief said the 1.5 MW service will be energized at opening next year. With additional grid capacity and increased customer demand, the company could double the Supercharger stalls on this site.
A major portion of the station’s energy demand will be met by an 11 MW solar farm. That includes ground-mounted solar panels and canopies on 30 acres of land.
Furthermore, Tesla will ensure energy reliability and efficiency with 10 Tesla Megapacks with a total storage capacity of 39mWH. These Megapacks can store energy with that solar farm and provide it during high demand or unfavorable weather conditions.
Opening Date
The EV maker said it’s working on substation upgrades and may lead the new Supercharger project inauguration to mid-2025.
To complete this project, Tesla will utilize its product lineup and reflect it on the ground.
