xAI launches API for developers

Generative AI company xAI has launched AI API for developers, allowing them to access the company’s large language model – Grok-1 and digital assistant Grok.

xAI is continuously opening access to these models to other developers. Based on details, the company has listed “grok-beta” model for $5 for a million input tokes and $15 for a million output

These tokens are subdivided into bits of raw data including the syllables “fan,” “tas,” and “tic” in the word “fantastic”.

The API also supports function calling to connect Grok models with external tools such as databases and search engines. Unfortunately, some API features may not be fully functional during initial use.

Developers can log in to the xAI developer portal and learn more about API and manage it.

The company has recently announced Grok 2 and Grok 2 Mini models for X social media site users. However, the access would require Premium+ and Premium subscription. These models also bring new features such as generative AI image features and fast response.
